Directions

Carlton Hotel Galway City is easily accessible on approach to Galway from the South and East. On coming close to Galway you will pass through Oranmore.

The drive from Dublin to Galway is 200km and will take approximately 2.5 hours. From Dublin take the N4 to the West and Galway. The N4 will become the M4 which you will follow. Leave the M4 at junction 11 which to join the M6 signposted for Galway. At the end of the M6 bear left and follow the signs to Docks and Galway City East. Once on the Dual Carriageway you need to move to the right hand lane. At the "Martin" roundabout you need to take the third exit again signposted Docks and Merlin Park. Go straight through 3 sets of lights (past Galway Crystal) and at the Skerritt go straight (2nd exit past GMIT), then straight through two sets of lights and Carlton Hotel Galway City is located on your right.

July and August are both perfect times of year to see the best that Galway has to offer. The Galway Arts Festival, the Galway Film Fleadh and the Galway Races occur during this time. In September Galway’s International Oyster Festival takes place.

All 267 guestrooms are beautifully appointed and decorated in a contemporary style. Choose from king, twin, interconnecting rooms and one and two bedroom suites. In room facilities include en suite bathrooms with power shower, interactive TV, iron, ironing board and trouser press, tea and coffee making facilities, high speed internet access and laptop sized safe.

Any leisure groups will be requested to provide credit card details and a pre-authorisation of €400 on arrival. This will be used against any unpaid charges or damages caused during the stay. No charges will be made if everything is in order on departure.

Family with kids

Very nice hotel, very clean and extremly friendly and helpfull staff. Family with two small kids, lots of activities e.g. swimming pool and supervised child care/playroom service. Within walking distance to city centre. Food very good and enjoyable atmosphere.

I would recommend changing the directions as not that clear... Also the hotel was not very child friendly there were no amenities for younger children I.e play area

Children’s activity programme, Friendly Fellows, which runs most weekends and during school holidays, provides fun-filled activities for children over 3 years, the Teen Club for older children includes activities such as air-hockey, pool and karaoke.

Leisure Club
Refurbished in 2011 "Active" Leisure Club provides facilities that are second to none in the local area. Facilities include a 20 metre swimming pool, toddlers and children’s pool, sauna, steam room and fully equipped gym. There is an on site cafe to provide refreshments.
