Directions
Burrendale House is located only 30 minutes outside Galway City. In the village of Kinvara, turn onto Gort road, take a right in Y and house is about 100 meters down on the left hand side.
We are also within a short drive of Dunguaire Castle where you can enjoy a medieval banquet and some dramatic entertainment. Within a 30 minute journey you can also get a boat trip to the Aran Islands.
We are approximately 45 minutes from Shannon Airport and 1 hours drive from The Cliffs 0f Moher where you can enjoy the spectacular limestone landscape of the Burren Area. Ailwee Caves, Burren Perfumery, Dolman and Caherconnell Stonefort on route.
Local Area
Near Kinvara is a stunning blue flag beach and 2 championship golf courses.
Staying at Burrendale House you are only 30 minutes drive for Galway City, known as the City of the Tribes here you will be spoilt for choice with many restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, museums and much more.
Also close to Kinvara is Coole Park Gort, home to Lady Gregory, Thoor Ballylee, which was also the home of the famous poet W.B. Yeats.
Fishing is also available nearby.
Places to Visit Dunguaire Castle
The castle overlooks the pictureque village of Kinvara and the mystical Burren region and is only a few minutes drive from Burrendale House. It hosts medieval banquets twice nightly ,at 5.30pm. and 8.45 pm.from mid April to mid Oct. with good food to please the palete and music ,song and folklore to lift the soul and reservations and tickets can be arranged in advance by the owners of Burrendale House.
The Burren
The limestone rock formations of the Burren are home to many alpine and mediterranean plants and as you drive through this area ,you can enjoy the breathtaking views of Galway bay and reflect on the diversity and contrasts
of this region which will provide a lasting memory to look back on in years to come
Aillwee Caves
Enjoy the dramatic underworld of this area as you stroll through the beautiful caverns with its thunderous waterfall, and explore the hibernation chambers of the long extinct brown bears.
Caherconnell Stone Fort
During a visit here you will experience the unique history and heritage of
this ancient stone fort and also ,that of the other famous Burren tombs and
monuments including Poulnabrone Dolmen,an ancient burial mound .
Cliffs of Moher
The Cliffs of Moher are simply breathtaking ,and a visit here is enhanced by the recently opened visitor centre which features superb interactive displays .
Connemara
Connemara has attracted many artists and film makers during the years because of its dramatic scenery and you can visit Kylemore Abbey in an unsurpassed setting of natural beauty and the lovely town of Clifden with

Aran Islands
