The length of the trail is 50km Inishmore, 8km Inishmaan, 10.5km Inisheer. The route on Inishmore is Cill Ronain -Cill Mhuirbhigh- Cill Einne. Inishmaan and Inisheer have circular walks from the piers.

The walks are specially designed to show the walker both the history of the island and how the islanders have created a living, thriving and happy community despite the harshness of their environment. The route marking system is stone markers with yellow arrows.
