" Ye Olde Hurdy Gurdy Vintage Radio Museum " is located in the Martello tower which overlooks Howth harbour. Howth is a thriving fishing port in north County Dublin. In recent years the town has become a fashionable resort with restaurants and bars along the seafront. The town is well served by public transport. The Martello tower is located on the seafront and is situated on a small plateau. It was originally built during the Napoleonic era as a watchtower for a threatened French invasion. The nostalgic museum is like an Aladdin's cave. You will see many examples of gramophones, radios and televisions from days gone by. The walls are well adorned with old posters, photographs, maps and other interesting items. Pat, the curator will be delighted to demonstrate some of the many still functioning exhibits.
