Location: The carpark is off a cul de sac on the Ticknock road. Buses 48a or 47b go to Ballinteer and Grange road respectively.

Distance:2km/1.3miles.

Starting point: The carpark near the highest point of the tarred road.

Route: The old shooting range is the first landmark. The forest ends near the summit of Three Rock, and the road leads to a number of radio antennae. The feature at the top of the mountain is the group of granite tors.
