Directions

By Rail/DART/LUAS:
Connolly station is located directly opposite the hotel. It serves amongst other connections with Sligo, Belfast and Wexford/Rosslare. Heuston station is the second train station for the rest of Ireland and has direct connections with Connolly Station by LUAS, bus, or taxi.

 From the Boat/Ferry:
Ferries to Dublin arrive at Dublin Port and Dun Laoghaire Port. Dublin Port is a 3 minute drive from The North Star Hotel and city centre. Dun Laoghaire arrivals can take the DART, bus or taxi into town.

 From Busaras Bus Station
Busaras Station, just a two minute walk from the hotel is where most, if not all, provincial bus services from Dublin depart/arrive.

 Car Park
Our own car park is available for guests. Entrance on Lower Sheriff Street directly opposite. A right turn into Lower Sheriff Street is not allowed.

Within Walking Distance

The North Star Hotel is ideally situated in the heart of the city and you are able to visit all of the sights that our great city has to offer. Why not start off by visiting our concierge for tickets to the hop on-hop off city sightseeing tour bus (multilingual)

 Shopping
Within a 10-15 minute walk you can find yourself on Henry Street and Grafton Street which caters for the fashionably conscious ranging from high end boutiques to department stores. At the top of Grafton Street you can also take a 15 minute Luas ride to Dumdum shopping centre, one of the largest shopping outlets in Europe.

 Theatres, O2 Venue & Art
The hotel runs its own shuttle bus to the O2 (formally the point depot) for €10 return. We also offer theatre break packages for the Gaiety theatre such as Riverdance. We are close to the Gate & Abbey theatres as well as the Hugh Lane Gallery of Modern Art, Wax museum, National museum, National Gallery of Ireland and National Concert Hall.

 Historical Landmarks
While you’re visiting our special city you must visit one of the many historical landmarks which have shaped Ireland’s culture over the years such as: The Book of Kells (Trinity College), Dublin Castle, James Joyce centre, Christ Church Cathedral, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Jameson Distillery, Guinness Store House, Dublin City Hall, Croke Park Stadium, GPO (General Post Office), The Four Courts.
