The superb Marine Hotel is located in a peaceful coastal location just a 25 minute drive from Dublin city centre and only about 15 minutes from Dublin Airport. It can be found in a picturesque area called Sutton which is really close to the suburban resort of Howth. The property was built back in 1897 and was then known as 'Golfers Hotel', later becoming the 'Marine Hotel' in 1913. The Marine Hotel has 50 ensuite guestrooms, which have facilities like cable TV, a trouser press, an iron and ironing board and tea/coffee making facilities. Guests can dine at the award winning Meridian Restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Take the R105 coast road from the city to Sutton Cross and you'll see the Marine Hotel Dublin Airport on your right hand side.
The Marine Hotel's Gallery Carvery is also a big hit for lunch and is available 7 days a week. Mingle with the locals or chat with fellow travellers at the Schooner Bar which has an early evening bar menu. Other facilities at the hotel include conference and banqueting facilities and leisure facilities like an indoor 12m pool, a steam room and a sauna. Attractions to visit in the area include Howth Head, Howth Demesne and Martello Tower. There's also a choice of 9 golf courses within driving distance of the hotel. To get from the city centre to Sutton you can take the DART to a station in Sutton which is located about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There's also a frequent bus service between the city and Sutton. Get the 31 and 31a from Abbey Street in the city centre.

The staff were all very helpful and addressed all issues with no fuss. The only problem was breakfast on the 2nd day when the staffing and food appeared insufficient for the numbers staying at the hotel. However the food when it arrived was very good.
