Poet, playwright, painter and mystic, George Russell, Known as AE. The Poet's family moved to Dublin as a result of an invitation to Mr Russell to join a firm of chartered accountants in Dame Street, and their first home in the city was at 33 Emorville Avenue, a modest two storied redbrick terrace house off the South Circular Road, close to Clanbrassil Street. There they lived for seven years with George first attending Dr. Power's school in Harrington Street, and later an establishment called the Rathmines School, run by Dr. C. W.. Benson. Here he won all the prizes and was known as 'the genius', while one special friend, Henry Chster browne, dubbed him 'the special artist and literary critic' of the school.
