A visit to the home of Guinness is the high point of any trip to Dublin. At the Guinness storehouse you'll discover all there is to know about the world famous beer. It’s a dramatic story that begins around 250 years ago and ends in gravity, the sky bar, with a complimentary pint of Guinness and an astonishing view of Dublin City.
As you wander through the storehouse you may visit the Retail Store on the ground floor where you can find the main ingredients of Guinness: water, barley, hops and yeast.
Description
Description
On the first floor you can see the step-by-step guide to the Brewing Process. Other things on this floor include the Tasting Laboratory, Transport Exhibit, the Craft of the Cooper, and tales about Guinness Abroad.
From there you venture to the second floor where you can learn the history of Guinness, check out all the advertising memorabilia as well as some of the classic TV ads used down through the years and across the globe.
On the third floor the Choice Zone is where Guinness teaches the valuable lesson which helps make clear the line between responsible drinking and drinking to excess.
The fourth floor tells the history of the Storehouse itself which was built in 1904.
On the fifth floor you can learn how to pour a perfect pint in the Source Bar.
There is also the Brewery Bar, which is a great place to enjoy some fine dining. There is also a section dedicated to the artistic works of John Gilroy who was responsible for much of the famous advertising from the 1930s to 1960s.
Finally the tour is rounded off with a trip to the Gravity Bar, which is situated atop the Storehouse tower and enjoys some spectacular views of the surrounding city. You may also receive your complimentary pint at this stage so take your time and soak in the view.
