Take N1 from Dublin. Proceed north past 3 roundabouts. At the 4th roundabout take the 3rd exit for Malahide. Proceed to T-junction, turn left, and The Grand Hotel Malahide is 1km ahead.

This historic hotel was built in 1835 by a member of the British Parliament at the time, Mr. James Fagan and was called the 'Royal Hotel'. The establishment of a train connection to Malahide had a huge impact on the popularity of the hotel.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at The Grand with our 20 month old son. The staff were great and nothing was too much trouble. Our room had plenty of space which we needed around the travel cot which was set up for our arrival. We all loved the breakfasts and enjoyed the views across the marina from our table. There are also excellent leisure facilities for all the family.

If you want a good work out all you have to do is pop into the hotel's fitness centre which is equipped with machines and weights. Or you could enjoy a dip in the hotel's 21 metre indoor pool. There's also a kiddies pool, a bubble pool and a whirlpool. Afterwards you can relax in the Jacuzzi or the steam room. The fitness centre also boasts a beauty centre called 'Buttercups' where you can pamper yourself with some beauty treatments as guests of the hotel get a discount!

Dining
The Grand Hotel Malahide has two restaurants and a bar. For a unique dining experience choose the Colonnade which has some spectacular views of the marina. Or if you're looking for a light snack or carvery lunch visit the The Palm Court Restaurant. In the heart of the hotel you'll find Ryan's Bar – a nice place to relax with a drink after a long days sightseeing.
