Step inside the medieval city. The new exhibition develops the theme of life in the medieval city. Exciting new features include a reconstructed archaeological dig, fun interactive areas and the 3D reconstructed face of a medieval woman. Dublinia is well worth a second look.

President McAleese unveiled a medieval skeleton at the museum in Dvblinia. The addition of the skeleton to the museum enhances the interpretation of life in Dublin in medieval times
The skeleton was uncovered during excavations at Wood Quay in the 1970's. Dr. Pat Wallace who loaned the exhibit to Dvblinia carried out these excavations. The skeleton is one of several that were found on the old south bank of the Liffey below Christ Church just outside the city walls.
It is that of a middle-aged woman whose remains were found with those of two small children. Sometime during the 12th century these bodies were simply buried on the bank of the river in unconsecrated ground. The simple grave suggests that they were social outcasts in some sense - perhaps criminals hanged from the city wall, prisoners of war or victims of an epidemic.
The Great Hall was revamped in early 1999 and they are now actively promoting it for conferences and functions.
Description
A new Medieval Fayre was also introduced.
