Originally established at the Kinnegar, Holywood, the club moved ot a site in Carnalea at Bangor, but when that proved inadequate the final move was made in 1925 when Criagavad House and Demesne became available. This has now beocme established as one of the finest eighteen-hole parkland settings in the game. Local knowledge has it that all putts tend to fall towards the sea, and it is generally accepted that accuracy rather than length is the prime requirement for thiscourse, which was laid out by H. Colt, the well-known architect of the day.
