Malin, Donegal
This is the longest of the walks but for the energetic walker, it is well worth the effort as the vista changes with every kilometer. The car park is a good place to start (at Knockamany) but before setting off, have a look at all the interesting points and fine views around. Below is the Five Fingers Strand surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes in Donegal. Nestling among the dunes is the oldest R.C. Church in Inishowen still in use. Across the water is the Isle of Doagh, to the right, ar...

Start to the left of the Cross Road Inn, past the Radio Station and continue up the hill where you will overlook White Strand Bay and Culoort Village. Continue on and you will come to Ireland’s most northerly point, marked off a road on the left. The view from here is worth the detour. Out to sea is Inishtrahull Island. Further out on a clear day the Scottish Isles can be seen, a path from here leading West will take you to Hell’s Hole, a tourist attraction. Back on the main road again and conti...

Dunlewy, Donegal
Donegl has no shortage of walks, whether they cross the open heath, fringe the beautiful beaches and cliffs, or run ribbon-like over spectacular mountain scenery. Near Dunlewy you can gain access to Errigal and Slieve Snacht, the two highest peaks in Donegal.
Another walk in this valley east of Dunlewy Lake, is a circular route which will take you up Maumlack, overlooking the Poisoned Glen. The climbs are steep and demand great care, but the scenice rewards from the summits are superb.<...

Malin, Donegal
This walk is the easiest of the three walks. Start at Seaview Tavern which overlooks Sandport and the Pier. Continue on up the hill until you come to a branch in the road. Although your walk will keep you on the right road it would be worth your while taking a few minutes off to the left to investigate the Wee House of Malin, and old church in scenic surroundings. Back up the road again and continue on straight until you come to a crossroads beside a shop. Turn to the right and pass the Bree Inn...

Beside Croic na Coille (Hill of the old oak trees) - on Ballyliffin Road. You may enjoy a forest walk and a picnic in one of Ireland’s few remaining natural woods with its oakwood, birch, rowan, hazel and holly. This fine stand of old oakwood is classified as an area of regional importance. In this wood stands the stone altar or Mass Rock, four feet high and three feet broad, where Mass was offered in Penal times....
