Rossnowlagh strand is an excellent location for beach casting. Late evening is a good time to go fishing as the beach is quieter. Best spot is Carrickfad Rock and the species you can expect to hook include; flounder, plaice, dog fish and bass.
Rossnowlagh is on the Kingfisher Trail's coastal loop. Following back roads through the hills of Cashelard it arrives at the strand.
The route back to Ballyshannon is along a further network of quiet lanes - perfect for care free cycling.
Local Amenities
Nearby at Murvagh, is the 18 hole, Donegal Golf Club. This links course,reputed to be the longest in Europe, has pine forests, the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop.
Rossnowlagh offers a Blue Flag Beach with lifeguard patrols in the summer months. It it therefore a popular spot for swimmers. Rossnowlagh is synonymous with surfing in Ireland.
