The Waters Edge Hotel is a family run boutique hotel nestled in the heart of the historic town of Cobh, formally known as Queenstown in the lower Cork harbour area.

The Victorian splendour of the town is reflected in the elegance and sophistication of this purpose built hotel.

Staying at the Waters Edge Hotel is a unique experience, as is dining in our award winning Jacob’s Ladder Restaurant. All of our spacious rooms are equipped to the highest standard. Most rooms have panoramic views of the surrounding harbour. From our windows you can enjoy the closeness of the world's famous cruise ships that berth regularly outside the hotel.

Directions

Cork Airport -
At Airport Gates take a left. At roundabout follow sings for N25 Rosslare & Waterford. Drive through the Jack lynch Tunnel which will bring onto the Dunkettle Roundabout.
Take the 3rd exit off the roundabout and follow signs for Cobh, Rosslare & Waterford also signs for Cobh Heritage Centre. Take the third exit off the dual carriage way for Cobh R624. The hotel is situated nest to Cobh Heritage Centre on the waterside. The car park is under the building.

Dublin -
Take the N8 and follow signs for Cork City. As you bypass Glanmire you will pick up signs for Cobh Heritage Centre, approach the Dunkettle roundabout, take the 1st exit off the roundabout following signs for the N25 Rosslare & Waterford & Cobh.
Take the third exit off the dual carriageway for Cobh R624. Follow signs for Cobh Heritage Centre, we are across the road on the waterside. The car park is under the building.

If you want something a little more adventurous, then angling and harbour cruises depart from the wharf outside the hotel. All water sports including sailing, windsurfing and canoeing are available at The Cobh Sailing Centre together with tennis and equestrian sports are all within a few minutes of the hotel and can be organised by us for your convenience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay: hotel has quite a unique location; it's a great size at only 18 bedrooms; lovely relaxed, friendly atmosphere; very friendly, helpful staff; great view from our bedroom; lovely food; very pleasant decor throughout hotel. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Only negatives (none serious, didn;t detract from our enjoyment) hotel could do with a lounge / seating area for guests - there's only the bar, outside terrace and 2 tables in reception area. And worst thing was the piped music in public areas..... bit weird at times! All in all a great value, great hotel! Cobh itself is quite a sad town - bit neglected and rundown. Heritage Centre was superb and harbour / quayside activities were good entertainment. Cobh well-sitauted though for visiting the surrounding area.

Solo traveller

The hotel was very convenient to everything. Did not have any meals there except breakfast and one snack at lunch time - had heard from somebody who had stayed there earlier in the year that the restaurant wasn't great. As usual for somebody travelling alone, I thought €110 per night was very expensive. Probably would have shopped around for a better deal if I had decided to take the break earlier.
