Set in tranquil surroundings in County Cork's Lee Valley, Knockawn Wood offers fantastic bed & breakfast accommodation. Its location is perfect – it's about 5 miles from the popular tourist town of Blarney while Cork city is only about a 15-minute drive away.

From Cork City 9 miles - take N22 for 3 miles, 1st right onto R618 to Killarney, left at Y junction. 5 miles after fingerpost sign indicates house.

Description

You'll receive a warm welcome here and to top it off visitors are given the choice of tea or coffee and scones on arrival. A full breakfast menu is on offer each morning. For dining out, evening meals are available locally at Blairs Inn an award-winning Pub and Restaurant. This is an excellent touring base and it's also ideal for golf, angling, or indeed a walking or cycling holiday. No trip would be complete without kissing the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle and for those who love shopping, Cork city is only a short drive away.

The accommodation consists of four en suite bedrooms. All rooms are nicely decorated and guest amenities in each include electric blankets, a TV, tea & coffee making facilities and a hairdryer.

Blarney is a very popular tourist destination and is home to some beautiful restaurants and traditional Irish pubs. The world famous Blarney Woollen Mills are located in Blarney along with Blarney Castle and of course the Blarney Stone. Angling, horseriding and golf can all be enjoyed locally.

Cork City
Cork city is only a 15 minute drive away, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Cork city is lined with shops, pubs and fantastic restaurants and cafes allowing you to enjoy a great day out in the city. While in the city, why not enjoy lunch in Crawford Art Gallery, enjoy a show in one of the theatres or visit Fota Ireland Wildlife Park on the outskirts of the city.

This is a lovely place to stay. We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived. The owner made us tea & offered us scones & jam. Nice rooms, lovely place.
