Dining & Beverage:
Encased in history, Crawford's lounge is situated within the main Mansion, the name is derived from the famous Beamish and Crawford Brewers, where the Crawford family lived here from 1905 until 1964. Crawford's lounge offers guests all the comforts of a modern hotel with food and beverage available all day, while savoring the architecture and decoration of a 19th century building.
Crawford's a la carte menu runs from 12.30pm until 9.30pm daily, it offers an array of Irish and international dishes, which cater for the wide cultural palate now very much part of a modern Ireland. Special requests will always be entertained, with the ethos of flexibility and the knowledge that each staff member in the hotel is encouraged to never use the word "no" to a guest.
Mabel Crawford Bistro:
One day by accident while moving a catering sized fridge, a blocked doorway was found. Eric, the Maintenance Manager, was asked to arrange for the removal of the boarding over the mystery entrance. On doing so, what was discovered but Lady Mabel Crawford’s Old Kitchen and Pantry, dating back some 150 years! Our country house hotel was originally the private residence of Lorrd and Lady Crawford, founders of the Beamish Brewery.
Mabel Crawford's Bistro boasts old world elegance with a modern touch. Situated in the heart of Mabel Crawford's restaurant in Glanmire is a hive of activity for lunches, evening meals. Mabel Crawford's menu is available from 12pm daily and has a range of tasty snacks along with giant steaks enough to satisfy any appetite, a popular choice for eating out in Cork.
Mabel Crawford’s offers modern Irish and European Cuisine, in a unique and original setting, at very affordable prices and with friendly yet professional service. The bistro aims to appeal to all generations, and is a family friendly venue with a kids menu designed by local children. We also have a diverse menu offering coeliac friendly dishes as standard.
Mabel Crawford’s Bistro occupies several interconnecting rooms and spaces, each offering its own character. Choose from a selection of private corners for larger family tables to discrete tables for two. A huge hearth from the original Kitchen dominates the central room. Mabel’s showcases several original fire places and quirky features such as an old safe, cubbyholes, a glass doored walk in wine cellar and a strangely placed window high up on one of the bistros walls oddly looking up into a hidden spiral staircase!
