The house is air-conditioned and there is a really relaxing sitting room where you can meet your fellow guests and trade stories about your adventurous in Ireland. While there, you can enjoy a drink from the Honour Bar whilst gazing into the open fire.
The guesthouse is perfectly situated to explore both Cork and Kerry, which together form the famed South-West of Ireland. If you head to Kerry you can find the truly beautiful Killarney National Park and the world famous Ring of Kerry. Before you head off over the border there's loads to see and do in Cork itself, including all the villages/towns along to coast such as Glengariff, Skibbereen, Clonakilty and Kinsale. Each of these towns is special in their own way. Cork City is just about 10 kms away and is a great city for both nightlife and day time pursuits such as shopping or going out to restaurants.
Blarney itself has many things you will want to see and check out. The first thing that should be on your itinerary is Blarney Castle and Gardens itself. The most famous feature is the Blarney Stone, which is said to be part of the famous Stone of Scone, and kissing it gives you the gift of eloquence. You can visit the Blarney Woollen Mills which is one of the largest craft shops in the country. There are two 18-hole golf courses within 10kms of the village and the surrounding countryside has many opportunities to go angling or horse riding.
