This course, which was founded in 1896, has superb scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Kilkee Bay as well as some spectacular holes along the cliff edge. Like all of Ireland's Atlantic links, it plays long and hard and provides a stiff test for the golfer who seeks a real challenge. Many holes flirt with the ocean, but none more spectacularly than the 3rd where the green is perched on the point of Georges Head. The constant sea breezes make the 5,900m links seem longer, but the glorious views and the satisfaction of a good round of golf will more than compensate for the effort involved.
