Here in this 200 year old farmhouse you will get a warm welcome with tea, coffee and home baking awaiting you on arrival at Gorteen B&B.; This family run accommodation is completely refurbished so you'll find it cosy and relaxing, and it's located on a working farm so you can get a real feel for country life.

There are three ensuite guestrooms including a double, twin and a room with a double and single bed. You are guaranteed to feel right at home when you stay at Gorteen as it offers orthopaedic beds, wooden floors, fully tiled ensuites, a cosy lounge, an open fire and some homemade jams and breads for you to enjoy.

Ennis by pass take the R352 - Tulla & Scarrif Rd. Left at Moymore cross and follow signs or at Craggaunowen Ring Fort follow signs or at Kilkishen one mile North on 462 follow signs.

Local Area

Sailing, fishing and golf are all available in the neighbourhood and Gorteen is walking distance from the popular tourist attraction of Craggaunowen Project,and Quin Abbey.Magh Adair.

Gorteen is convenient to Shannon international Airport, which is forty minutes drive away, as well as Limerick city (just over 1/2 hour's drive), and the bustling town of Ennis, famed for its traditional music is nearby. Bunratty castle is less than an 1/2 hour by car, with it's imposing keep which offers evening banquets where the guest is transported into medieval times for a few captivating hours. Knappogue castle, which also offers medieval banquets, is just a stone's throw away.

The farmhouse has three attractively furnished and decorated guest bedrooms, all large and warm, with en suite facilities, high ceilings, power showers, electric blankets and hair dryers in rooms.Also TV in all rooms. Internet connection available at all times. Tea and Coffee making facilities in all rooms.

Mary and Michael made us feel very welcome and were extremely attentive and helpful. Thoroughly nice people. The house is great and the gardens delightful. Nice dogs too!

Breakfast here is definitely something to look forward to with its extensive choice, and evening meals are available by arrangement. Gorteen offers expert home cooking with home-made jams, jellies, breads, and organic fruit. All dietary requirements catered for.

Meals are served in the brightly decorated dining room overlooking the garden with its well-tended lawns.Weather permitting afternoon tea in the garden is something not to miss! On a chilly evening relax by a cosy peat-burning stove,as you write your post cards.

Gorteen also has a beautifully maintained garden if you just want to relax for the day, and is less than an hour from the world-renowned Lahinch golf club, one of the best links courses in the world.Bunratty Folk Park and Castle only twenty minutes drive. Why not book a Medieval Banquet to celebrate that special Anniversary or Birthday. Or you may wish to make Gorteen Farmhouse your base for a few days(special reduction) and visit Killarney, Connemara,The Rock of Cashel or the lovely East Clare,Lough Derg and the Shannon River.
