the palace stables

The "Day in the Life" exhibition portrays a typical day in the stables and palace on the 23rd of July 1776, a day on which Archbishop Richard Robinson entertained Arthur Young, the famous agricultural improver and other guests. The exhibition is portrayed via life-like models, audio commentary and spectacular colourful murals.

In addition to the atmospheric Hayloft Gallery, Children's Play and Educational Rooms, Audio Visual Theatre and Stables Craft Shop, visitors can browse around the period rooms, set of the tack room and the coachman's house and have a glimpse of the working and living conditions of the coachman in the early 20th century. Across the cobbled courtyard, the original coachbays have been exquisitely converted into the Stables Restaurant where a magnificant Irish Town Coach sits in state.
