The 18 hole, parkland course was developed on the Duke of Manchester's estate in 1911 and the club formed in 1920. The present clubhouse was built in 1980 and extended in 1990.

The course is hilly with magnificent views of the Mourne mountains and South Armagh, and because the soil is of a sandy texture is playable in the wettest weather. Conveniently located approximately eight miles from Portadown on A27 to Newry and ten miles from the cathedral city of Armagh.
