Located on the Mall, Armagh County Museum is the oldest County Museum in Ireland. Exhibitions reveal the rich and varied history of the county, ranging from prehistoric artifacts to more recent material. These include military uniforms, wedding dressses, ceramics, natural history specimens, railway material and household items from a bygone age. As well as permanent displays, special exhibitions are held throughout the year.
Description
Railway collection features the UR and GNR(I) lines that linked Armagh to Belfast and the rest of Ireland. Items on display include uniforms, badges, timetables, maps and a model of the Bessbrook-Newry tram which carried coal, flax and finished linen.
