You may be lucky enough to witness a game of Road Bowls - Ireland's most unusual sport, played only in Armagh and Cork. The quiet winding country roads suit the game in which 28 oz. Iron balls, originally believed to be cannon balls, are hurled by the players along a course of several miles in the fewest possible throws.

The excitement (and betting) is tremendous and the spectators are advised to stand well clear of the hurtling projectiles....
