Seabreeze
Seabreeze's outside is built in the old 'cottage' style, with the typical dormer windows for the upstairs bedrooms. The outer appearance is quite deceptive, as the house is large and spacious, and - due to its panoramic windows - much brighter than a typical cottage!!
It is also in the ideal location for a genuinely peaceful holiday - no noisy neighbours, no traffic, only birds, sheep and cows - and the occasional badger, grouse or bat.
Seabreeze and its location are perfect for the genuine 'individualist' and lover of sea views, nature, quiet and solitude - yet you are only half an hour away from Belfast!

Directions

Directions from Belfast
By M2 and M5 to Whiteabbey and Carrickfergus, and then on towards Whitehead. At Whitehead, you will see signs for Islandmagee; ignore them and keep driving in the direction of Larne. A few miles beyond Whitehead, you will come to a junction. Here, Ballycarry is to the left, and the sign to the right says Portmuck. This is Lower Island Road. Follow it (B90) over the bridge until you come to a crossroads, with a Vivo store on the right.

Turn left at this first crossroads (with the Vivo store) and keep going straight for about five miles. This road – called the Low Road – will lead mostly upwards to the highest point on the island. As the road starts to descend, you will get your first full view of Brown’s Bay, the Glens of Antrim and possibly the Mull of Kintyre. As soon as you do, look out for a road to the right (just past two houses on the right); this is Lunnon Road – it is signposted to Portmuck & Seabreeze.

Drive up it to the end (about half a mile). You are now in the village of Mullaghboy. Turn left, and within a minute you will be at the end of the village. There is a road to the left going to Brown’s Bay, do not take it. Take the road straight ahead which will have a cul-de-sac sign on it and will be signposted ‘Portmuck’. It winds all the way down a steep hill to the harbour. There are a number of sharp bends. At the last of these before the stretch down to the harbour there is an unpaved lane to the right. Go up the lane to the first concrete driveway on the left. Seabreeze is the two-story white house at the top of this driveway.

If by any chance you are confused, keep going down to the car park at the harbour, turn round and come back up the road. At the first right hand bend, you will see an unpaved lane to the left. Follow it for about two hundred yards to a concrete driveway on your left; our house is the only one at the top of the concrete lane.

Directions from Larne:
Follow the shore road towards Carrickfergus (not to Belfast!) until Ballycarry. Where the right turn goes off to Ballycarry, turn off to the left to Islandmagee. This is the Lower Road mentioned above. From here, follow descriptions above.

Rooms
The Main Bedroom
The main bedroom holds a king-size bed with two bedside tables; a comfortable chair and side table; a dressing table with mirror, hair drier, tissues, tongues, adapters and a rocking chair; two radio-cassette players, and a built-in wardrobe with light. There is also a full-size mirror and a smaller magnifying mirror for your convenience. The three windows of this main bedroom allow splendid views across the hills of Portmuck and of the sea and Glens of Antrim.
TheTwin Bedroom
This room has two single beds with bedside tables, dresser, wardrobe and a little bookshelf with books for all ages in both English and German. The views from the two panoramic windows reach all over the ocean to both the Antrim and the Scottish coastline, as well as over the large private garden.
Facilities
The Living Room
The spacious living room is well designed and comfortably furnished. The three-seater sofa is complemented by two single armchairs and a double sofa-bed. There are a number of side tables and foot stools and the music and entertainment centre are based here: large screen TV; video, DVD and satellite; music centre with CD, radio and cassette player.
A selection of CDs, videotapes and cassettes awaits our guest, capable of entertaining in both German and English. The four panoramic windows and the mahogany staircase leading to the bedrooms upstairs, all give this room a particular ambience. The gas-fired open fireplace supplements the oil-fired central heating and ensures cosiness even during the colder winter nights. Plenty of candles and holders are provided for a romantic time – to which the little ‘surprise’ in the fridge may contribute.
The Dining Room
The dining room holds a large size oval table, which comfortably seats 5-8 people in front of the large panorama window. Here you will let time go by: watch the boats to and from Scotland go by day and by night; watch the cows and sheep in the nearby fields, see the lights of the cars on the Antrim coast road at night, or observe the bats hunting for flies. Every time of day offers its own unique experiences - and the sea changes colour almost as fast as the sky.....
The antique Swiss dresser holds enough crockery and glasses to ensure that you shall not have to do any dishes during your stay – just fill the dishwasher in the kitchen!
The dining room also holds a side table with a mini ‘library’ holding all the information a tourist could possibly wish for: road and site maps; up-to-date events calendar; tourist information files about Belfast, Carrickfergus & Larne; the Causeway Coast and Glens; Mourne Country; The Ards Peninsula, The Sperrins, Tyrone, Fermanagh and Derry & Donegal. These files are constantly updated and your host, who is also a qualified tourist guide, will highlight the events of the season when you arrive. And of course there is a set of binoculars for your enjoyment during your stay!

Things to See
Things to See
Seabreeze is an ideal base for sightseeing in the Glens of Antrim and along the coast road both north and south. In the northern direction you will find Larne, Glenarm, Cushendall and Cushendull, Ballycastle with it’s Oul Lama’s Fair, the Carrick-A-Reed Rope Bridge and Ballintoy harbour as well as the Giant's Causeway, Bushmills Distillery, Whitehead, Portrush and Ballintoy Harbour. Starting early-ish you could see all this within a day.
Facing south you can visit Carrickfergus with its Norman castle; Newtownabbey, Glengormley and Jordanstown before coming to Belfast itself. In Belfast, you do not want to miss the City Hall, the castle, the Harland and Wolff shipyard where the Titanic was built; Stormont parliament buildings, Queen’s University, Botanic Gardens with the Lanyon designed Palm House, or the ‘golden mile’ leading from Shaftesbury Square to the city.
Activities & Interests
On Islandmagee itself you can go walking, swimming, cycling, horseback riding, kite flying, upsailing, rock climbing, bird watching and diving. There is a recognised PADI diving centre nearby
The location of Seabreeze is ideal for exploring some, or all, of these attractions – you tell us what you are interested in, and we show you where to find it; we always try and be of assistance.
