Description
High Ride:
Step aboard one of the Ride's specially designed cars and experience over 1,000 years of Carrickfergus' exciting history. From the legendary shipwreck in 581 of the nobleman, Fergus, on the rock which gives the town its name, to the 19th century market scene, you will see, hear, and even smell the past of Ulster's liveliest town.
Dark Ride:
The 'Time Travellers' glide into the 'Dark Ride' where the town's history comes to life, through the use of sounds, smells and special effects. 'Travellers' witness King Fergus drowning, the Normans and Scots attacking, King William landing, experience Mary Dunbar.
Exhibition:
Finally, a walk-through exhibition, including a scale model of the town with audio and visual descriptions of how it developed through the centuries, including photographs and illustrations, brings you back to the 20th century.
