There are six reservoirs in the Woodburn district near Carrickfergus. The reservoirs provide a wide variation of fishing areas.

Description
Lough Mourne is currently the favourite for the larger trout but recent seasons reflect a general improvement in catch size for nearly all these waters. Species North - Rainbow Trout Others - Brown and Rainbow Trout Methods - Upper and Lower South - Fly Fishing Others - Fly Fishing, spinning and worm fishing.
Location
How to get there - From Belfast - All the reservoirs are approached by the M5 and A2 towards Carrickfergus. Upper, middle & Lower South - As you go into Carrickfergus take the B58 towards Ballynure. About 1.6km (1 mile) out (at the Brown Cow Inn sign) fork left for 0.4 km (1/4 mile) to cross the B90 at Woodburn village. Carry on past the B90 for 2.4km (1 1/2 miles), over the hump-back bridge to the lane on the left at the Waterworks dwelling. North Woodburn - Take the B58 at Carrickfergus towards Ballynure. The reservoir is to the left of the road after 5.6 km (3 1/2 miles). Copeland - Through Carrickfergus on the A2 towards Whitehead for 2.4 km (1 1/2 miles) to Eden taking the B149 to the left towards Glenoe and Larne. The reservoir is on the left after 2.8 km (1 3/4 miles) Lough Mourne - Take the B58 at Carrickfergus towards Ballynure for 2.4 km (1 1/2 miles) to the first cross-roads; turn right onto the B90 for 1.6 km proceed for 2.4 km (1 1/2 miles) to the next cross-roads then turn right. The reservoir is 0.8 km (1/2 mile) along this road on the left.
