Joyce's River (or Maum River) rises in the hills three miles south west of Leenane and the river has two sizeable tributaries, the Bealanabrack and Failmore rivers, which flow into the main river from the north west. All of these river and their tributary streams are used by trout and salmon from Lough Corrib for spawning and, consequently, angling is not encouraged on any part of these waters. |
