There are seven principal loughs on Gorumna Island and these are, Lough lllaunantrasna, Loughan, Lough Nafiddaun, Lough Awallia, Lough Hibbert, Lough Ballinakill, Lough Nagowan plus several other smaller un-named loughs. All of the loughs hold stocks of brown trout with fish of up to four pounds in weight being recorded from Lough Ballinakill, although the average weight of trout from these loughs would be considerably lower than this. Gorumna Island is linked by road to the mainland via Lettermore Island to the village of Bealadangan. This village is approximately four miles from Costello. |
