Angling Season: 15th February - 12th October There are several loughs within a few miles of Roundstone, including Lough Bollard, Lough Naweelaun, Lough Namanwan, Lough Turtan, and many other smaller un-named loughs. All of the loughs named hold good stocks of brown trout. Lough Bollard occasionally produces fish of between two and three pounds but generally the average weight of fish from these loughs would be in the region of a half a pound. There are boats for hire on some of the larger loughs but on the smaller loughs fishing is usually done from the shore. Many of the loughs on the Ballinaboy River system are close to Roundstone, and it can be difficult for the angler to determine which flow northwards into the Ballinaboy River, information on all of these loughs, and access to them, may be obtained from the Roundstone Anglers' Association, Roundstone, Co. Galway.
