West of the village of Ballyconneely there are a number of loughs, all brown trout fisheries. The principal loughs are Lough Anaserd, Lough Dereen, Truska Lough, Manninamore Lough and Doonloughan Lough. The average weight of the brown trout in these loughs tends to be around a half pound, but occasionally some bigger fish are taken on Doonloughan Lough and on Lough Anaserd. As the area is well served by a road network, access to all of the loughs is easy. |
