The fishery consists of a great number of loughs, including Lough Skannive, Lough Sheedagh, Lough Truskan, and numerous other smaller loughs. The fishery is part privately owned and part angling association waters. All of the loughs hold stocks of brown trout. Sea trout enter the fishery around the middle of the month of June but the best time for fishing for sea trout is during the months of August and September. Besides the sea trout, occasional salmon are also known to run into this fishery.
