Nickelback at the Odyssey Arena

Prepare to rock the rafters of the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on Friday 12th September 2008 when Canadian rockers Nickelback hit the stage! Check out our guide to this exciting event with details on the music, where to get tickets and how to get to the venue.

The award-winning Canadian rock group Nickelback will take the Odyssey Arena by storm with their unique brand of chart topping rock music that has earned them a worldwide fan base. Best known for hits such as 'Hero' (from the Spiderman movie), 'How You Remind Me', 'Rockstar', and 'Photograph' it's perfectly understandable why their album sales have topped the 20 million mark.

In fact, Nickelback's style of post-grunge music has catapulted them to stardom and unusually, their appeal stretches over various music genres of metal, hard rock, pop and alternative. Due to their popularity you can expect that tickets will be snapped up pretty quickly for this gig.

Seating tickets cost STG£38 while standing tickets are STG£35.50 - you can either book online, by phone, by post or even in person. Check out the special Nickelback page on the Odyssey Arena website for further booking details. By the way, the supporting act is American alternative metal group, Staind.

How to get here…

The Odyssey Arena will no doubt be swamped with Nickelback fans so if you've never been to the venue before, we reckon the easiest way to get there (if you're not driving that is!) is on foot.

From Central Station, in Belfast city centre, turn left and walk up East Bridge Street before turning right onto Oxford Street. Continue along this street, past the Waterfront Hall and when you come to Queen Elizabeth Bridge, cross over and turn left onto Queens Quay. Walk along Queens Quay and you'll see the Odyssey Arena entrance on your left.

If you're driving to the gig, the Odyssey Arena is really easy to get to. The venue lies just off the M3 Motorway (100 metres away!) so just follow signs as it's really well sign-posted on all major routes into Belfast. And there's no shortage of car parking at the Odyssey with over 1,500 spaces available directly opposite the arena.

Our top tip if you're planning to drive is to allow plenty of time to get there and to get parked. The car park does fill up quickly for events and this in turn creates traffic congestion on all approach roads so make sure you get there early to avoid missing any of the action. There is a charge of around STG£0.80 per hour or you can pre-pay STG£3.00 for up to 6 hours parking, so that's probably the best option.

Hope you enjoy the concert!
