The Féile Chomórtha Joe Éinniú is held every year in the heart of Connemara in the town of Carna. The renowned sean nós singer, Joe Heaney, called Carna home and the town has celebrated his memory every year since his death during the mid-eighties. The programme of events includes sean nós music, sean nós dancing, workshops, a singing competition for the kiddies and plenty of other events to make this céilí a festival to remember....

With the recently refurbished Eyre Square, the Parade returns to the heart of Galway City. With expectations of upwards of 50,000 spectators, there will be much merriment and entertainment for everyone, young and old. With the success of the walking floats in the last few years, the theme is continued this year with a ban on vehicles into the city, with the exception of vintage cars....

This is Ireland's premier show of Connemara Ponies, featuring dancing contests, a craft fair, and a dog show....

A Culchie is a country person and are someone who is proud of it. This festival is seen as the male equivalent of the Rose of Tralee and the crowning of the Culchie of the Year is the highlight of the event. No-one from inside the Pale is allowed enter but you must be up for anything. For everyone else there is the traditional wellie-throwing contest, sheaf-tossing, low-loader driving and many other things that perhaps a city dweller wouldn’t understand....
